HISTORY



A few very dedicated and aggressively interested AA'ers developed the Three Diamond Society. They were mostly members of The Pioneer Society who had joined American Airlines or a predecessor company before 1938. These few, in reality, achieving twenty five years of service, became the Three Diamond Society. This group met once a year from 1962 through 1966 at TUL, LAX, and DFW. On March 17, 1967, at SFO, the first formal meeting was held with the election of Paul Kent as President, and a vote to have By-Laws drawn up. Since that time, the annual meetings became conventions and have been held in various AA cities.

Our membership now stands at 1748. To be a member of the Three Diamond Society one must have completed twenty five years of accredited service with AA or TWA. Every employee in every department, active or retired, who completes thirty years of service is invited to join.

Convention activities include registration, a big coffee klatch one morning, tours and theatre activities (as available), a dance, a business meeting, and a banquet. Our only purpose is fun and fellowship!
